The American University of Sharjah (AUS) is a not-for-profit, co-educational institution of higher learning with enrollment of approximately 3500 students. Applicants are considered on the basis of their qualifications regardless of race, color, gender, religion, disabilities, age or national origin. The medium of instruction is English. There are 21bachelor degrees, 21 minors, and seven graduate degrees offered by the faculty of four schools: Arts and Sciences, Business and Management, Architecture and Design, and Engineering. The curricula of the programs are based on the American Model of liberal education and includes a strong general education requirement. AUS is accredited in the USA by the Middle States Association of colleges and Schools, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104. AUS is licensed in the USA by the Department of Education of the State of Delaware. AUS is also licensed and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the United Arab Emirates.
