Education City

 

Education City, located on the outskirts of the Qatar capital, Doha, is already home to branch campuses of four leading US universities offering selected degree programs of their parent institutions. The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development has chosen its partners on the basis of their academic renown in particular areas, and other world-class universities are expected to join this unique educational experiment in the coming years. Existing partners are: Virginia Commonwealth University (art and design); Weill Cornell Medical College; Texas A & M University (engineering); and Carnegie Mellon University (computer studies and business). In the near future, the campus will include a Science & Technology Park, a major conference and exhibition centre, a world-class teaching hospital, as well as social, cultural and sports facilities, making Education City the learning hub of the Middle East.”
