1. Introduction
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia is one of the leading universities in Malaysia that has created a respectable reputation in the development of science and technology. UTM has more than 25, 000 students on campus in Johor and more than 4,500 in its Kuala Lumpur City Campus. The increasing number of research done and smart partnerships established with other leading research and academic institutions has assisted UTM in maintaining its competitiveness in providing relevant education and training for all its students. In order to fulfil the objective of becoming a more research-based university, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia now focuses on its postgraduate studies. The university offers more than 100 postgraduate programmes in science, engineering and technology served by more than 500 committed members of the graduate faculty with broad international exposure.

2. Postgraduate Programmes Offered
There are three modes of study; Taught Course Programmes (Master’s degree), Research (Master and Doctoral) and combination of Taught Course and Research (Master and Doctoral).
Postgraduate Masters and Doctoral programmes are offered by ten faculties and two schools in UTM. These are the Faculties of Built Environment, Geoinformation Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Education, Management and Human Resource Development, Computer Science and Information System, and the Faculty of Science. The two schools are the Business & Advanced Technology Centre and International Business School.
