History
Founded in 1966, Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality known as "Swiss School" is one of the foremost hotel management schools in Switzerland. Located in the picturesque city of Chur, in the state of Grisons, the school is at the centre of where modern hospitality and tourism started 150 years ago.

Swiss School is one of the few Swiss government recognized hotel management schools, offers courses at the highest standards and is the only hotel management school in Switzerland that teaches in both English and German.

In its 40 year history Swiss School has achieved numerous recognition and endorsements; for example ISO 9001:2000 granted after 1½ years of preparation, making the school the first truly international hotel management school in Switzerland to achieve it. This quality assurance certification is recognized in over 200 countries worldwide and is yet another statement that Swiss School remains to be one of the leading hotel management schools in Switzerland.

Swiss School also has achieved EduQua and Triple QQQ certification and has Affiliation agreements and recognition from numerous national and international partner universities, enabling graduates to pursue further education at Bachelor and Master Degree levels at some of the world's best universities.

Location
Campuses in Chur and Passugg, approximately 122 km from Zurich. Chur is the capital of the State of Grisons, the largest state in Switzerland. Tourism is the main industry in this state and with over 2000 holiday destinations it is named the "Holiday Corner of Switzerland"

Degree programs are offered in association with the University of Delaware, Newark USA, Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh UK and HTW Hochschule für Wirtschaft Chur (University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland) as well as other international partner universities.

Students completing the bachelor degrees and Higher Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management may also receive the AH&LA American Hotel and Lodging Association Hospitality Diploma.

German speaking students study the Swiss recognized Hotelier Restaurateur program.

Swiss School also offers customized accelerated programs for professionals awarding credit for previous qualifications on production of diplomas and certificates.

Courses at Executive level
Executive MBA Masters of Business Administration in Tourism Management (exclusively for ArabellaSheraton executives).
 
Entry Requirements
For Diplomas and Degrees
-Minimum 18 years
-High school education
-Fluent English (TOEFL 550/213, IELTS 5.5-6.0 TOEIC 752 or    alternative)

For Post Graduate Diploma,
-21 Years plus bachelor degree

For LHPC
Min 4.5 IELTS required

Starting Dates
Two intakes per year, January and August
BBA fourth year summer course plus semester 7 and 8 October to October

Student facilities

With a unique blend of modern state-of-the-art classrooms and a traditional hotel the Swiss School campus at Passugg boasts the ultimate atmosphere for learning hotel management. The School Hotel has three restaurants, including Paulaners-Passugg and has solarium, table-tennis, billiards, arrangements for fitness and Swimming nearby and as part of weekly activities students can also play volleyball and soccer.

Student population

Studying on two campuses we have over 600 students studying hotel and tourism in both English and German. Presently SSTH has over 50 nations represented in the student body and the aim to increase to 60 nations by the year 2007.
